OK, new dog trivia quiz here, so heads up!
Ready.....drum roll....
Question: What is the name of the pug dog in "Men in Black" and "Men in Black II?"
Answer: Anyone? Anyone?
OK...here goes....
Frank!
Of course there are many other famous pugs like:
Bess - in "The West Wing"
Mopy - In a Marie Antoinette movie
Otis - in "The Adventures of Milo and Otis"
... and famous pug owners like:
Billy Joel
Duke and Duchess of Windsor (former - Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson)
Empress Josephine Bonaparte, Napoleon's wife
Paula Abdul
Queen Victoria
Tori Spelling (90210, her dad's a big Hollywood film producer, etc.) - her pug just passed away recently, though - sympathies and prayers for the family.
Other interesting tidbits about pugs follow for your enjoyment.
1) The Pug is officially a member of the Toy Group, according to the American Kennel Club.
2) Pugs average 16 pounds and feature squished in faces, curly pig-type tails, broad chests with muscular builds and are generally beige or fawn colored, black or silver and wear a black mask, like Zerro.
3) Although pugs are perceived as gentle and are indeed great with children, beware that they can also stand up for themselves. They can be so gentle, though, that they have been known to carry off feathered friends to safety without messing with even one feather.
4) Allergies can be common for pugs. You want to avoid collar leashes and other contraptions for these dogs to help with their breathing. I.E. use harnesses instead.
5) Pugs can do fine in small quarters like apartments. Just make sure to take them on walks, getting them exercise. And keep plenty of pet cleanup products handy for accidents and regularly cleaning.
6) Have your pug on a healthy diet with the right type of dog food as guys tend to suffer knee problems when being overweight.
7) With grooming, take care to watch for signs of Demodectic mange, eye injuries, and the face wrinkles to be sure the wrinkled areas do not start emitting an odor or developing any bacterial growth.
Aside form some snoring and snorting, these cute dudes are cool! Go, pugs!
