Popular Ways to Promote Your Dog Blog Offline Today

Online marketing methods are often inexpensive ways to get the word out on your dog blog that promotes your dog products and services for sale. But many offline methods offer sound investments of your time, energy and resources as well. Here are some popular methods for your promotional activities.

 Postcard Marketing

There are easy, cost-cutting ways to get postcards out today. You can keep a list going of your prospects and clients in a Microsoft Excel document. Then import the document into label-making software or third party programs where you can create labels and even the postcards themselves for your promotions. PrintshopPro has various versions of this type of software.

Check online at Amazon.com and at Ebay.com for other types of postcard creating programs. Then easily make your own cards to send, using your own branding – company logo, product images, contact info, etc.

Another easy way is to try companies online linked through the US Post Office site like Click2Mail. This company allows you to upload your own mailing list and documents: flyers, postcards, and then sends them out for you basically for the cost of postage, almost. Save a bundle.

 Other Print Promos

Every quarter or month as you like, send other promotions as well, like a sales flyer or booklet that you create and / or load and send, as above with postcards. Sales letters are also perfect to send, and include a copy of your latest newsletter issue with a coupon in it to use on your products / services, like a buy one get one free dog toys offer.

 Lumpy Brochures and  Letters

Don’t be afraid to send a dog biscuit, small packet of dog food , a ball to toss, tug a rope, product sample or other fun item with your mailing. Dogs love mail, too! And pet owners enjoy sharing things with their beloved pets.

 Contests

Announce contests to your list members and invite participation. For example, ask for photos for your blog and host a “cutest dog of 2008” photo contest. Same with videos. Host video clips and go a step further - - ask your website visitors to vote on the best clips!

 Joint Ventures / Trade Shows

Keep an eye out for trade shows and dog events in your area or region, and see about setting up trade show exhibit space to showcase your dog products and services, hand out free samples, newsletter issues and more. Plus get new list subscribers here from a fishbowl contest where visits drop in a business card as they pass your booth area for a drawing for a free dog gift basket later on.

Don’t have enough funds for this? Team up with someone else, maybe someone who sells cat products, for example, for a joint venture. And share booth costs.

There are hundreds of ways to reach out to potential prospects and clients. Get plenty of help 24/7 from the Small Business Administration and network with others in your industry for many more ways.

I like the promo tips. I'd just make sure that your blog is already earning good money, so that you don't have to pull it all out of your pocket to buy the pens and such. The promo items could be a great way to get fundraising money for research and such related to your cause (if your dog blog has a purpose other than to let peolple know about dogs and such). You could easily get fundraising money for the United States Humane Society or something like that even if you have just a plain blog. That would be cool. Plus, if you were able to raise enough money, maybe the organization would promote your blog on their website.
