Why attend dog training courses

Many households now have a dog as part of the family, as we become a world of dog lovers we need to ensure that we look after them properly. All dogs will need some form of training to ensure they know how to behave around other animals, people and especially members of the family. Training courses can be beneficial to both you and your dog, as you will both learn something from them. If you attend the classes regularly then you will see great rewards with your dog.

If you want to ensure that your dog learns everything from basic obedience training to specialized areas then there will be a course suited to you. You can then go on to specialized areas such as law enforcement, assistance to people with disabilities and even search and rescue. Most dogs no matter what breed they are will love learning new tricks and because dogs react well to a reward system they will behave in a way that gets them rewards and treats every time. The most difficult part of any training course is getting your dog to understand what you expect from them.  Basic dog training will involve simple commands such as sit, down, come stay, close and heel.  You will teach your dog quicker if you reward him for good behavior, and a reward scheme or system is ideal.

You should never use force or violence on your dog, they will not understand and the training will be pointless. Praising and rewarding your dog will see faster results, and teach your dog to be better in new environments. The ideal time for you to take your dog to training courses, is when they are a puppy. Basic commands can be taught from as young as 8 weeks old, but usually your dog will need its 4 month vaccinations to join a training course. You can however start the training at home so that you lay the ground work before joining a class.

Dog training is all about communication, you will need to learn the best way for you to communicate with your dog. This is often achieved through strong commands and rewards, your dog will respect that you are the master and love having the rewards.  New tricks will help with the bonding process between you and your dog. All dogs love to perform tricks for their owners, as it engages their minds and stops them being bored.

Although some people have to take their dogs to dog training courses because they have a behavioral problem. These classes can help with several different problems that your dog may have including separation anxiety, barking and biting.  A great deal of these problems occurs due to a lack of training and communication. You need to ensure that you are firm but fair with your dog and then you will see great results.
